PAPER SUMMARY

Scrum is officially 28 years old, but according to Ken Schwaber, co-creator of Scrum, it is even older than that used in teams before the officially documented description. But even after 30 years, Scrum continues to be new to many people. Why does Scrum continue to be both established and new simultaneously? And what can we learn from its use and adoption?

In this talk, Dave West, CEO of Scrum.org, discusses the current state of Scrum, describing how Scrum is being adopted and its continued growth. He will lay out adoption patterns as organizations wrestle with the industrial paradigm. Finally, he will hint at the future where Scrum and the ideas of empirical process, empowered teams, and continuous improvement are natural for every knowledge worker.
