Abstract: Businesses are facing a lot of uncertainty these days. Business market and customer demand are changing rapidly, globalisation is everywhere, and competition has never been this intense. Events worldwide are affecting us on national, corporate, and individual levels. To succeed, companies need to keep up with these changes and respond quickly. This presents both challenges and opportunities for organisations.

However, many companies aren’t set up for learning and innovation that this context requires. The concept of psychological safety – where people feel safe to be creative – has been a big topic in business discussions for years. What is perhaps less explored is the part that emotional intelligence plays in nurturing psychologically safe environments.

This session will explore:

  • The importance of psychological safety and how it enhances creative thinking
  • The interplay between emotional intelligence and psychological safety in influencing where people want to work and how they show up
  • How we all have agency in making workplaces where people can show up as their best selves and do their best work.
